//Terms of Use

The rules for using this site. Short, because the site does very little to you.

Agreement

By using daitiq.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the site. The site is operated by Jack Sechler, trading as DAITIQ, a sole proprietorship in California.

What this site is

A portfolio and information site describing projects, along with a page offering contract work. There are no accounts, no subscriptions, and no payments taken here. Reading it costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

Not advice

Nothing on this site is financial, investment, betting, legal, or professional advice. This is important enough to have its own page: see the disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

Ownership and intellectual property

The text, design, code, and figures on this site are owned by Jack Sechler unless stated otherwise, and are protected by copyright. Open source repositories linked from this site are governed by whatever licence each repository states. Where a repository states no licence, no rights to reuse it are granted.

The same applies across the DAITIQ products. The names DAITIQ, ParlayGenIQ, FiveIQ, and QueryIQ are trademarks of Jack Sechler, trading as DAITIQ. The source code behind each product is proprietary and unpublished unless a public repository says otherwise. The content inside them — including the FiveIQ puzzle banks and the curated datasets and models behind the prediction products — is original, curated work protected by copyright, and none of it is offered for reuse. FiveIQ serves one day's puzzles at a time by design; extracting or republishing the banks is copyright infringement, not cleverness.

To be precise about what is not claimed: game formats and generic mechanics are ideas, and ideas are free. What is protected is the expression — the code, the content, the data, and the names.

You are welcome to read, link to, and quote this site with attribution. You may not republish it wholesale or present it as your own work.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use the contact forms to send spam, malware, or unlawful content.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure.
  • Do not scrape the site in a way that degrades it for other people.

Project enquiries

The Work With Me page is an invitation to talk about projects, not an offer of professional services. Nothing on this site is an offer capable of acceptance, and no engagement of any kind exists unless it is separately agreed in writing and signed by both sides.

Third-party links and services

This site links to separate products and third-party platforms, and uses third-party services for forms, analytics, and hosting. Those are outside this site's control and are governed by their own terms.

No warranty

This site is provided on an as-is and as-available basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. There is no promise that the site will be uninterrupted, error free, or that any figure on it is current at the moment you read it.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jack Sechler and DAITIQ are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of this site or reliance on anything published here. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those exclusions do not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules.

Changes and contact

These terms may change, and the date at the top of the page changes with them. Questions go to jack@daitiq.com.
